A Transformative Experience for Emerging Leaders
Built on the foundational values of Aretes (Excellence), Telos (Purpose), and Integritas (Integrity), A.T.I. equips students with the knowledge, discipline, and leadership mindset required to make meaningful change. Through immersive workshops, mentorship, and hands-on experiences, scholars deepen their understanding of public service and develop the skills needed to lead with vision and principle.
Program Requirements
To apply, students must submit:
- A current resume
- Two letters of recommendation
- An unofficial transcript
- Responses to the program’s application questions
Selected scholars will commit to a two-year leadership and internship experience, during which A.T.I. provides ongoing training, mentorship, and personalized assistance in preparing for career opportunities after graduation.
Expanding Access and Impact Across HBCUs
The A.T.I. Summer Leadership Training program continues to grow its presence and influence within the HBCU community. What began with students from 19 institutions has now expanded to 33 participating HBCUs, demonstrating a deepening commitment to building inclusive pathways into public service leadership.
This expansion reflects the program’s vision: to empower the next generation of Black leaders with the skills, networks, and confidence to create lasting change in government and beyond.
