Student Criteria
- Majors: STEM related majors – General Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer or Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics
- Classification: Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors
- Preferable GPA 3.0 and above
- Candidates must have: ability to analyze data sets and make assumptions/recommendations; commit to a teamwork environment and partner or lead as necessary; curiosity to learn new skills; demonstrate ability to set priorities and execute on actions within shortened timeframes.
Student Expectations
- Engineering intern with basic engineering tasks related to design, analysis, test, integration and systems engineering. Opportunities can vary from performing analysis on existing tools and processes or developing new solutions to improve engineering work. Activities of an engineering intern include: data analysis, project improvement, IT/systems or tool evaluation, process and procedure creation or enhancement and designing innovative solutions. Interns will network with the leadership team, attend job shadow or site visits to support the project and/or participate in specialty events to help build a strong experience with Verizon.
- Work hours are M-F 9a-6p.
- Students are paid (average $20/hr)
