DOJ’s HBCU Regional Forum- April 18 and 19 in Atlanta!

The U.S. Department of Justice is pleased to announce a Regional Forum for HBCUs in Atlanta at Clark Atlanta University and the Atlanta University Center’s Robert W. Woodruff Library, on April 18-19, 2024.

Attendees can look forward to engaging plenary and breakout sessions, including technical assistance programs for institutions interested in DOJ grants or contracts, a career fair with exhibits and workshops for students interested in Department internships and jobs, and other presentations that will introduce HBCU students, faculty, and staff to DOJ’s wide range of programs and opportunities. 

The free Forum is designed to cultivate partnerships between DOJ and HBCUs, and attendees will have a chance to engage with DOJ staff in programs organized around themed tracks such as:

  • Race and Equity in the Law;
  • Local and Campus-Level Collaborations;
  • Grants and Funding Opportunities;
  • Career Pathways in Federal Law Enforcement;
  • Science and the Law; and
  • Partnering with Professors.

Presenters and panelists at the forum include senior DOJ officials who are eager to connect with the HBCU community, such as Assistant Attorney General  of the  Civil Rights Division, Kristen ClarkeU.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia, Ryan K. BuchananATF Special Agent in Charge – Atlanta Field Division, Benjamin P. GibbonsFBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge – Atlanta Field Office, Marlo M. Graham; and U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Georgia, Thomas E. Brown, as well as other DOJ representatives from D.C. and in and around Atlanta.   

The Forum, and the Career Fair & Exhibits in particular, will give attendees an opportunity to meet face-to-face with DOJ employees from various components, including the ATF, Civil Rights Division, Community Relations Service, DEA, Environment and Natural Resources Division, FBI, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Justice Management Division, Office of Attorney Recruitment and Management, Office of Community Oriented Policing, Office of Inspector General, Office of Justice Programs, Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Georgia, U.S. Marshals Service, and U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services.
