Atlassian’s Finance team is a globally engaged organization that accelerates Atlassian’s strategy by providing critical insights, secure and scalable services in support of internal and external stakeholders. The team includes the Accounting, Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Treasury, and Tax functions. As part of your role, you will work in the general ledger accounting team and gain experience in supporting month end close and projects in your assigned areas.
Opportunities may include:
Gaining an understanding around the focus and strategies of finance leaders, observe and support methods and practices in making executive decisions
Learning about the month end close cycle as well as the impact on our financial statements
Supporting internal and external auditors work by providing supporting documentation, answering questions, and maintaining the control structure.
Understanding the accounting impacts of business transactions and ensuring compliance with US GAAP and controls requirements
Supporting internal and external reporting functions through preparation of footnotes, fluxuation analysis, and answering questions from other finance teams.
Executing special projects (e.g., software implementations, process improvements and automation, implementation of new accounting standards, data analysis, accounting standards research, etc.)
Qualifications:
At least one year of classroom and/or Accounting internship work experience demonstrating overall understanding of fundamental accounting acumen including journal entries, US GAAP accounting standards, data analytics, interpreting financial statements, and financial reporting.
Strong competency in MS Office and Google suite, especially in Excel and Google sheets including pivot tables; certifications or relevant coursework preferred
Power BI /Tableau or other data visualization experience a plus
Excellent attention to detail
Strong written and oral communication
Highly driven and resourceful, capable of working with high degree of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with multiple business partners and teams
Preferred: Currently pursuing or have completed a Masters in Accounting
