MAXIS GBN is seeking a Regulatory/US Compliance Analyst to join the Risk & Compliance Team (who are based in the UK) on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Regulatory Compliance Manager – this role will be based in the Atlanta (Georgia) office and focus on regulatory compliance and data protection for the US office.
Responsible will include:
- Assisting with regulatory compliance matters and strategy for MAXIS, predominantly for the US business.
- Provide guidance and support to the MAXIS business (US, but globally when needed).
- Helping the Regulatory Compliance Manager to keep he regulatory mappings for all MAXIS jurisdictions up to date.
- Assisting the Regulatory Compliance Manager with regular horizon scanning and keep up to date with regulatory changes and new/emerging regulations in the US (Federal and State regulations). Assisting with other jurisdictions as needed.
- Helping to conduct regulatory analysis to determine if MAXIS is in scope of new/changing regulations.
- Keeping up to date with all regulators via alerts, newsletters, websites, webinars etc (predominantly US but also other jurisdictions MAXIS has branches/subsidiaries).
- Work closely with Compliance, Risk and Legal teams to ensure regulatory changes are incorporated.
- Completing all regulatory filings for all MAXIS US entities (other branches/subsidiaries as needed).
- Developing and maintaining a good relationship with MAXIS teams to align on regulatory topics when needed.
- Assisting the Regulatory Compliance Manager in producing management information.
- Ensuring that the US Distribution activities, sales flow, product and marketing materials are in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Participating in some regulatory projects (where necessary).
Required/Desired Competencies
- 3+ years’ experience in a compliance role within financial services.
- Good knowledge of the US regulatory landscape (in particular regulation applicable to Insurance and Reinsurance). Knowledge of other jurisdictions (e.g. UK) would be beneficial.
- Strong IT and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills essential.
- Good analytical, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
- Project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform analysis.
- Experience in insurance/reinsurance markets would be beneficial.
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
