Work with our great Metro Nashville Public Schools staff to support our wonderful students and families through our internship opportunity with the Office of Family & Community Partnerships. You will receive a robust experience working across several teams within our department. Our departments include Community Achieves, Family Engagement, Extended Learning Program and Partnerships, Impact & Engagement teams.
Our teams support before, during and after-school programming at several school sites throughout the district. You will be paired with a school and/ or district support team based on your interest. We understand the life of a busy student and we will support you with a flexible schedule.
This would be an amazing opportunity to receive an expanded view of our work that includes hands-on learning in areas that touch fields such as education, social work, school counseling, community impact and development, social media fields and many more. You will also be exposed to the national community schools strategy. This experience will also help to build personal skills, program planning and important community connections while supporting students, families, and staff.
Duties include:
Support with after-school programming.
- Assist with student activities and enrichment (tutoring, mentoring and academic support)
- Data and clerical support (student check-in/out for arrival and dismissal, ELP participation data)
- Support with planning after school events.
- Translation support (if applicable)
Support with during school programming.
- Support with school programming (tutoring, mentoring and academic support).
- Provide support with school resource pantry space (organizing and tracking donations).
- Coordinate and assist with planning school events.
- Support with school events.
- Support with school and district initiatives.
- Translation support (if applicable)
Other duties to support the entire department:
- Social Media development and planning
- Partnership engagement and planning
- Planning workshops and training.
