As a Database Administrator Co-Op you will work with professional database administrators to deploy and tune databases, application tiers. You will gather requirements from end users and setup databases for new systems.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Collaborate with other database administrators to maintain the Oracle EBS Application and Database tiers.
- Work with teams throughout the company to understand SQL database requirements for applications.
- Follow and enhance existing development workflow processes.
- Learn database standards, best practices and processes.
- Gain hands-on experience on database technologies, toolsets, integrations and processes.
- Other IT projects and tasks as assigned
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related major, and returning to the school full-time at the end of the co-op.
- Ability to commute to S&C HQ in Rogers Park, Chicago, IL.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid work model with 3 days onsite, 2 days remote.
- Comfortable working Full-Time starting in Spring 2024 through Summer 2024 (6 months minimum required).
- Have taken a college level database class with SQL experience
- Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be an independent, self-starter, willing to learn, and enjoys challenges
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to learn and work in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Major Physical Demands
- Physical demands are those normally associated with an office environment.
- Occasional handling of office supplies such as paper and copier/printer cartridges.
- Frequent use of PC keyboard and mouse.
