The Opportunity
As a Project Controls Associate 1, you will be assigned to either a role in scheduling, cost analysis, or a combination of both. This position performs routine project controls assignments according to training, capability, and experience. In addition to performing duties as assigned, this position will be primarily focused on developing knowledge regarding scheduling, costing, and concepts related to industry technology and project management.
Key Responsibilities
Gain working knowledge of industry, technologies, project execution, cost, schedule, and financial systems. General understanding of budgets.
Cost:
- Assists in Cost Reporting & tracking
- Assists in maintenance of quantity reporting
- Assists in change management process
- Understands B&V financial entities
Scheduling:
- Assists in schedule preparation, maintenance, and reporting.
- Assists in productivity reporting
- Assists with critical path and float analysis
- Assists with vendor progress
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer four-year bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

Minimum Qualifications
Four year Bachelor’s degree or local equivalent required, or equivalent experience. No experience required with a four year Bachelor’s degree or local equivalent.

Work Environment
Professionals located near a Black & Veatch office have the option of a hybrid work model that offers a balance between working together in person and the flexibility of remote work. Our hybrid work model means you will work three days in the office and two days from another location of your choice.
This position will temporarily be located in Overland Park, KS as a Hybrid role. Must be willing to relocate on a field project assignment. Must have reliable transportation.
