Summary – Job Responsibilities – Activities:
Provide field and technical service to support customers and the sales organization. Perform testing and create designs of new or custom products, improve the characteristics of existing products, and determine different types of products that will be of use within the surface preparation industry.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment utilizing pneumatic, mechanical, and electrical skills.
- Collect and analyze data acquired from prototypes and apply results in the design of new products or to update existing products.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all work performed and design changes.
- Communicate professionally with customers in a service-orientated manner in person, via email and phone.
- Read and interpret CAD drawings, schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Fabricate and assemble prototype and custom equipment assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Contact vendors regarding parts to better the overall quality of existing equipment in a cost-effective manner.
- Provide technical training to customers, sales staff, and distributors.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities, and Training Needs:
- Willingness to travel ~50%
- Proficient with hand tools and power tools.
- Welding experience is helpful but not required.
- High attention to detail and inspection skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Promotes an environment without harassment.
- Read, write, and communicate in English.
- Able to work independently as well as on a team.
Education – Experience:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of related working experience.
- PLC and Robotics experience is a plus.
Pay:
- $25 to $32 per hour,
- Commensurate with experience.
