Jordan Barrant, C’2022 is spending her #SpelmanSummer as the 2021 AUC Visual Arts intern at the @CAAMinLA. During her experience, Barrant will conduct research for upcoming exhibitions and programs, including LaToya Ruby Frazier: The Last Cruze. She’ll also write and review wall text, contribute posts to the CAAM blog, support administrative tasks and participate in meetings pertaining to the planning of exhibitions and their corresponding programs.

“I’m Jordan Barrant, a rising senior comparative women’s studies major and curatorial studies minor from Boston. After coming to Spelman and becoming a volunteer with @spelmanmuseum, I learned it was possible to have a career as an arts worker. As a part of the @AUCenter_ArtCollective, I’ve had the opportunity to immerse myself in the arts through internship opportunities and events. On-campus, I’m the URGE: Unite for Reproductive and Gender Equity’s president and a Quarterman and Keller Scholar through the Social Justice Program, where I can engage with storytelling and the Spelman College Archives.”
