Tenesha Carter, C’2024 – #SpelmanSummer Instagram Takeover

Tenesha Carter Johnson, C’2024, spent her #SpelmanSummer serving as a curatorial intern at Storm King Art Center, a 500-acre outdoor sculpture museum in Upstate New York. The internship allowed her the opportunity to conduct research regarding the Museum’s featured artists, assist in upcoming exhibition development and collaborate with Storm King’s staff on project improvements. The experience expanded her perspective of the art world and generated increased inspiration for her professional endeavors as an aspiring art historian, curator, and writer.

The Kansas City, Kan., native is an art history major and curatorial studies and French double minor. This academic year, Tenesha will serve as a P.U.L.S.E. Programming Board member and Beyond the Body Community Liaison. Carter was also recently inducted as a member of the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program. Tenesha looks forward to collaborating closely with the Spelman Museum of Fine Art, building stronger bonds with her on and off-campus Spelman siblings and continuing to immerse herself in the Spelman experience.
